The Cajon School was established by Heidi Joubert and has been running for over 4 years now. We believe anyone can play the cajon and our aim is to motivate and encourage you as you learn and grow with our carefully planned courses developed specially for these classes. We have seen many students go from total beginner to very able players in a matter of a few months!
Every Tues from 8 Oct – 10 Dec 2013
10 week course, 10 weekly classes
In a beautiful studio in the Liverpool street/shoreditch area
Beginners class: 7pm – 8pm
Beginners advanced 8pm – 9pm
£15 per hour/class
£20 for 2 hours/both classes
£12 per class (£120 for the course)
£17 both classes (£170 for both courses)
£3 per class
It is advisable that you have your own cajon for the courses so you can practise at home and stay up to speed with the rest of the group, however we have a few cajons (subject to availability) that are available to hire for each class at a small fee. We also have some amazing brand new Cruz cajons that you can buy at a discount if you are enrolled to the classes.
Joining both classes is a great option, a big part of learning to play is watching other players play thecajon. By joining both classes it will give you more practise and more class time, even if it means repeating a few things here and there… it takes years of repetition to become a great player! Beginners are also welcome to join the improvers class but be ready to keep up or simply watch and learn from more advanced players! If you are unsure of your level, you can start with the beginners class and if you find that the improvers class is more suited for you, you can move up to the class and visa versa. You can also attend both classes on the first day and decide which would suit you best.
What does others say about the cajon courses?
Check out this video to see what some of my Autumn 2012 students had to say about the cajoncourse.
Do I need to enrol?
Only enrolled students have their space in the class secured for the entire duration of the course.
To get the most out of the cajon classes, I suggest that you commit to the course and attend every class faithfully if possible. This will not only encourage you but it will improve your playing immensely, you will enjoy music more and it will also make the group and the classes more effective in the process of learning to play this awesome instrument.
Because we need to book the studio ahead of time for the entire duration of the course, we need at least 9 enrolled students per course to commence with the courses.
How do I enrol?
We require 50% of the course fee paid upfront to book your space as your enrolment deposit and the other 50% to be paid at the beginning of the first class in cash.
Upfront payment is accepted via bank transfer or cash.
So I want to enrol, what now?
simply get in touch with us via email and we will get you enrolled! Write to us at firstname.lastname@example.org
Note that we will be filming all classes for various uses including posting up the classes on our special class page for you to go through during your practise sessions at home. We will also possibly be streaming our classes live on the internet and/or filming some of the lessons and although the camera will primarily be focused on the teacher, by joining the course you consent to let us use any footage that might contain your image for our videos, blog and web and promotional material.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask me!
Looking forward to it!
